Hardest crossbreed track ever?

Post by typhonmusic »

Self-explanatory. Since I'm starting to get into crossbreed, I'm looking for some really hard tracks to get a good idea of what it's like. It doesn't matter what your definition of "hardest" is, just post the tracks that really blew you away when you first heard them.

Keen to hear people's thoughts on this topic as I don't think the genre was meant to be too hard? I may be wrong though.

I like crossbreed but actually never really understood what it is..per definition it should be a hybrid between hardcore and drum n bass..however hardcore has a 4-to-the-floor rhythm with distorted kickdrums and drum n bass has a breakbreat rhythm..and that is impossible to have going on at the same time, so basically the tracks need to be splitted up in hardcore parts and folowing drum n bass parts, what also seems to be done mostly. From what I hear from artists such as Lowroller, I:Gor, TOA and others is hardcore with snares, rhythm changes and reakbeat parts to give the dnb-ish part. Mostly crossbreed from what I've heard sounds harder than mainstream hardcore, however the kicks are not that fuzzy and sound more synthetic.

However when I am listening to that kind of tracks on YT I always see debates where people say "this is not real crossbreed" and especially lowroller seems to be bashed about to be too much on the gabber side, too mainstream and not really crossbreed..however to my ears his music fits my observation of crossbreed so I am confused on wheter I have understood well what it is about or wheter I am missing out on a few aspects?

So any crossbreed-expert who can clear up my doubts and explain to me once for ever what crossbreed really is?

Anyways back to OP, probabely not very hard but check out I:Gor - This is what I am, nice track IMO..

Ok, well,
This is probably the best introduction track to get into the genre.
The Outside Agency - Surreal

I'm pretty sure the video is taken from Alice Madness Returns......

Are we talking about the hardest Crossbreed or the hardest broken beat track in general? :+ I ask cause i see some tracks posted who are technically far away from being called Crossbreed :p

The hardest broken beat track overall imo:

The hardest breaks ever used in a track imo:
