Linkin Park - The Hunting Party (new album)

Post by ceero »

Out on june 17th.
The Hunting Party features three guest artists, including Rakim from the golden age hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim on "Guilty All the Same", Page Hamilton from American alternative metal band Helmet on "All for Nothing", and Daron Malakian from American rock band System of a Down for the song "Rebellion".
Holy shit. A Linkin Park track featuring Daron Malakian. That is going to be fucking brutal :fist: _O_
A am quite excited about this but as usual with these guys, no idea what to expect. It has been said by themselves that it is going to be quite damn hard and way more rock oriented than the last two albums. I liked Living Things a lot, but Thousand Suns was such a tragic experiment. Im really glad there is going to be more guitars and rock elements instead of electronic experimentss :)
Shinoda described the album's sound as a 90s style of rock record "It’s a Rock record. It’s loud and it’s Rock, but not in the sense of what you’ve heard before, which is more like ‘90s Hardcore-Punk-Thrash".[17] He stated the "weak" status of modern rock in the music industry as an inspiration in recording a heavier rock album; to try to bring the sound of the 90s back to the forefront.[17] In an interview with MusicRadar, Delson stated that the album will feature many more guitar solos.

Imagine building a guitar and then tuning it and then playing it. That's what electronic music is.

So its already leaked :) My first impression : HOLY FUCKING SHIT OMFGZ1!1!
This seriously comes close to Meteora / HT stuff. This is just incredible! Awesome beyond words, sounds like old LP mixed with punk. Go check it, MILES beyond their last 3 albums imo.

Do you really think? Totally fan of Hybrid Theory and Meteora as well, haven't really heard any of their songs since New Divide (actually the last LP track was What I've Done in 2007 before that, I was only 12 haha).

I don't know why I even bothered listening to the three tracks in this thread, I knew I wouldn't like them. They sound nothing like Hybrid Theory or Meteora. Though, that third track's riff does indeed sound like SOAD - reminds me of Chop Suey & B.Y.O.B.
