subground kick

Post by RidiQless »

I would like to know how one creates a subground kick and if there's some special trick with it. it's sounds extremely powerful with often a long tail but it isn't a typical dong kick. is it just a bunch of layering and adding some sub with perhaps some distortion too?

ps: hope it's okay to create that topic cause this isn't about hardstyle kicks.

Demolite made a tutorial about these kinds of kicks. It should be a great starting point to see how it's made.

so, according to Demolite, if you don't use Ableton, you are pretty much screwed, right?

Not necessarily, you can make the sub/bass pattern in every VSTi. If you want to make it in Operator you have to use Ableton Live, yes.

Just a house bassdrum with a distorded bass and a boost in the mids and highs. ;)

Use FM8 instead if you don't have Ableton ;)
