Well, after fully understanding this technique, i'm still left with an issue:
the sounds I used as a waveform are being moved automaticly to another space when the tempo is changing. How can I stop that from happening?
Normally I would just create a pattern for it, no hard stuff but this involves an entire synth and I would like to have it as a waveform either way. Is this possible or am I forced to put those sounds in the playlist as patterns?

how will that work when I have a synth audio clip that extends through different kinds of tempo changes? will 'fit to tempo' work on that ?
I rarely do tempo changes so I have no experience about this problem but I did a quick try and all went well.
I automated the tempo to go from like 150bpm to 100bpm and back to 150bpm at the end of the clip. Then I exported the test lead's mixer channel via mixer export to .wav without effects, that wav file was instantly put in the playlist correctly and I just linked it back to the original mixer slot and enabled the effects on it, tried to play it alone and it played nicely along with the tempo changes, it stretches and shrinks and looks weird, true, but that's essential for it to work properly. In the end after it has played through the tempo changes the audio clips involved look weirdly too long or short depending on how you automated the tempo but FLS won't mind that and still handles it correctly.
HOWEVER, this does not work correctly in FLS if you start playing the track from the middle of a tempo change.
Hopefully I understood your problem correctly.

Yes I agree that shrinking/stetching thing is really annoying and confusing, and yes you do understand what i'm trying to ask. Now, with crashes and risers (I do those in audio clips) I somehow got those fixed by 'fit to tempo'.. it sounded first like shit, so I put the stetch back to normal and now they're stay put where they are suppost to.Harha wrote:I rarely do tempo changes so I have no experience about this problem but I did a quick try and all went well.

Haven't tried it out with my synth clip yet but your post certainly helps yes thank you!

I fixed it in a different way, first I recorded the synth and saved it as a WAV file, then imported it, dragged it so it was synced with the original and sliced the sample on the spots where the pitch changes (wav part x pitch), and yes it still stretches out, but it doesn't influence the song anymore.
