New Kai Tracid track / album

Post by ceero »

Maybe a bit too early to open haha, but Kai just posted this video on facebook

First preview from his upcoming album, sounds really awesome in my opinion! Really has the old acid/handsup/hardtrance atmosphere of his old tracks, even though its slower and softer. Really looking forward the new album :)

well... I don't know what to say. yes, it sounds like his older tracks, but... ugh... it just feels so soft, which is not a good thing. I have a feeling that this is gonna be just another shit trouse album with a few acid riffs here and there.
oh well, maybe I am just too sceptical, and this will turn out great. let's wait and see

I don't know if I can expect tracks like Trance & Acid or Too Many Times... probably not. I'm not going to miss anyway, worth at least a listen once :)

So, a brand new track :) It does sound really solid! But it seems to be a bit different version than the one in the first video posted, which is a bit shame.

bigroom/trouse? really? really??
just say it out loud: "Kai Tracid is producing bigroom or trouse now". doesn't sound right. doesn't feel right.
what a disappointment

What is wrong with that? No offense but 'trouse' is just a stupid term with no real meaning created by uplifting trance listeners butthurt because trance with 4 minutes long breakdowns is no longer in main focus.
Yes, it may sound 'mainstream' but come on, in late 90s/early 00s Kai Tracid was the biggest EDM mainstream possible. And i dont see how this is different from for example Acti stuff.

you react as if my comment is some kind of final judgement that's gonna be accepted throughout the whole world as a general opinion on Kai Tracid comeback. no, it was just my very own opinion based on my taste, and I'm in no way trying to persuade anyone. hell, I might be the only person not liking this, but anyway...
"trouse" may be a stupid term, but I personally find it very descriptive and fitting to that rehashed crap they call mainstream trance nowadays.
I personally think that late 90s/early 00s mainstream stuff is superior to nowadays mainstream stuff. period. that's it. there is just no way I admit otherwise. hence eventho Kai Tracid has been just as mainstream before as he is today to me his older stuff is still superior to his newer stuff.
To me Acti's stuff has crazy amount of drive, the flow of his tracks simply gets you moving no matter what. well, at least, me. this track from Kai Tracid... well... I think, it's just bland modern commercial turd with zero to none creativity put into producing it. I mean, come on! it's just that very same bullshit Armada churns out every day in unbelievable amounts. BUT they've put a bunch of acid riffs over it and that deep (relatively deep, more soothing actually) male voice very similar to the one Tracid used in Too Many Times (arguably his biggest hit, I guess?) because BOOHOO, IT'S KAI TRACID'S COMEBACK! LOOK, IT'S KAI TRACID! LOOK, IT HAS ACID AND THAT VOICE FROM THAT TRACK EVERYONE KNEW!!! REJOICE!! hell, I even think that if Kai is really going to pull through with this whole "comeback" thing and actually return to producing, in a couple of years even acid riffs will be gone, and he will turn into one of the bajillion other commercial trouce (modern trance if you like) producers with zero to none distinctive features about his music.
so, yeah, that's my opinion, you may agree with it or not, it's okay. just try not to overreact (like I just did lol :+ ) anyway, I always liked remixes for his tracks much more than the originals (with the exception of Conscious, that track is sheer genius). yes, I may be too pessimistic at times, and if time proves me wrong I'll be glad, but for now I see the whole situation this way.
