how bad are you and how good do you want to be?

because if you want to be really good that just takes a lot of practice and knowledge i'm afraid :dunno:

First off you will definitely need to learn how to construct hardstyle kicks, cuz im sure you know and we all know that is one of the biggest differences from any other genre.... look on youtube... headhunters and audiofreq have some pretty good tutorials explaining stuff that you could get an idea from... when i build a track i usually will start off by creating a kick then working my way from there

it's all about working by yourself to get better, right?

people are not going to do the work for you :p

Hardstyle is pretty much secretive with sound design. Sorry to say it but we were all lost like you were, and nobody enlightened us. The only way to really progress is to keep trying things and not give up.

yhimself has got some tutorials @ youtube. they're quite decent, i think.

for example, this one:

If you wanna get better I suggest finding out how the key elements are made. Here's something to get you started:

Intro lead (FM Synthesis)

Climax Leads

Best kick tutorial on youtube

Normal screech & Use of Effectrix to spice it up

Special intro screech

Vocal manipulation

FX Kick

Reverse reverb

Cool distortion effects with Ohmicide

Creating tension with risers

How to build an intro

Once you got all this stuff down, start making tracks. Then you will want to move on to mixing & mastering which to be honest is fucking hard IMO :omg:
