How to loop sounds to create a buzzing sound?

Post by Dj Reaper »

Hi,
I´m sorry if there is already a tutorial for this but I didn´t find anything.

My question is, how to make that effect like in Headhunterz - From within (voice), Swedish house Mafia - One (Kick) and so on AUTOMATICALLY in Fl Studio?

I can do it inside edison by looping a sound over and than shorten the loop selection to the point where I hear the sound I like and than stop the loop and play that sound on my keyboard but I´d like to know the quickest way to program this inside Fl Studio that I don´t have somehow to record this or whatever, just paste some automation or whatever into the Playlist and get that effect...can anybody help?

And than there is another similar effect, which Zatox loves to use. In his song Ear Fucking he somehow takes a lead and than somehow granulizes it or whatever, no clue how to make fl do that. Don´t know if you know what I mean here, I better post thesong:

@2.05

I hope you can help on both, but more important is the first. Thank you in advance, really would love to use this technique :)

One of fruity granulizers preset makes that kinda thing I think. When you find the knob which gives you the sound, automate it.

As for the edison thing. you can put another edison after the edison you're playing with and record it.

Thanks for your answer, will give this a try :)

And sorry for posting here, I thought it was more about using the program than specifically make a sound, but next time I´ll post there.

yes i think that's what he ment but that is in ableton.. Need to know how to pull this off on FL Studio, because automating the sampler knobs is obviously a lot better and sounds more professional than having to record it

I tried doing this with fruity granulizer but it wasnt very.. fruitful :+

Sampled from 1 bar before the effect(from zatox's piece) and put trough granulizer.

Preset called stutter, Automated grain spacing with a straight line and set mode to stairs. Amount of effort: 0
At the end there I dropped the attack and faded in zatox for last bar

Here's zatox for comparison, sorry for copyright infringement

So what do the pros use cos let's face it, Zatox uses cubase... I've been wanting to know this sorta granulised vocal loop thing myself, I've tried ableton and it's the easiest to use but I don't like rewriting to cubase too much hassle for me (I'm lazy lol) and direct wave is simple too in fl but I'm on osx. Any ideas?

oh i forgot about this thread, but thank you, the question was still open. I will try this granulizer thing in about two weeks when I am at home. However the headhunterz thing didn't succeed too. In ableton the sampler is different than in fl studio, so would be nice id somebody could explain for fl without needing to record a knob movement.

And btw, doesn't zatox use logic??
