Fuck was the defqon incredible. I have only seen the blue, red and the silver stage , was to 95% in the blue tent :D .

The blue tent was so fucking loud, our tent was next to the blue tent on the other side of the fence, but our voice sounds distorted because of the loud bass.

Didn’t liked the final at Saturday, the firework was good , but I didn’t liked the track list. The final on Sunday was fucking awesome, the set of Gunz for Hire was soooooooooooooo awesome. I’ve never danced like at this final! My whole body hurts, although I’ve slept about 12 Hours :D

Oh, weather sucked, but blue "tent" not! I was there almost entire my time. B-Front, Frequencerz, Alpha2, Geck-o (listened it from the other side of fence where our tent was), Deepack all rocked /,,/

Luna & Pavo & Pila at Red sounded really good also. Those kind of sets should be later at the Red. Stana's set at White was really good that 20-30min what I listened to it. Where I can download those 2 sets (not on lsdb)? Red also needs more rawstyle, would be nice to listen to it at open air.

See ya def. next year!

My festival budget was 300 euros (grocery store before heading to DQ1 (alcohol & snacks), train tickets, tokens at festival etc.). To the top of that entrance ticket ~100e and flights which certainly are pricy from US(?).

It was imo. We were on the red stage for 30mins of WP and the sound was bad, maybe it was because of the WP but then after we went to Gold and Blue and the sound was so lovely there. Also the Black stage had good sound. During the end show I didn't really care about the sound anymore lol
Might sound funny but on saturday they had some sound problems because of the WIND! it literally blew away all the high frequencies!

Can someone give me some Webpages of photographers which took photos @ DQ?
I'm searching for a few ones and as far as i remember it was no q-dance staff taking them.

My review of Defqon 2013!

Some of this is in comparison to what I'm used to for American events.

The Good
- Excellent ticket price. Weekend pass cost half of what EDC did
- Security. Honestly the best patdown and search I have ever had. I'm embarrassed by how lazy and careless American fests are while the Defqon employees actually took time to search guests at the entrance but were then very lax once inside the fest just to make sure everyone was safe without being intrusive or having them constantly walk around the crowd like in America.
- THE PEOPLE. Biggest point. So sick of seeing American festival/rave attendants wearing ridicules outfits or simply as little as possbile. Yes people should wear what they want but enough with the attention whoring. Defqon guests showed their pride for the music and favorite artists without looking like they rolled out of a clown convention. Because of this I also felt much more welcomed by the people at Defqon than I have at any American EDM event.
- Less open with drug use. Also a huge plus. While actual use might be similar to that at American events, I didn't have people constantly asking me about buying/selling or have to deal with seeing people openly acting fried out of their minds on variety of stuff. Half of an American EDM crowd can be found sitting on the ground playing with lights chewing their faces off while Defqon was actually dancing 99% of the time.
- Activator, Ophidian, Ran-D, G4H, and Frontliner's Friday set were my top picks.

The Meh
- Trash. Of course there is going to be some but there were almost no bins to throw things away. Really a hassle to find one to throw out a single cup. Defqon also wins award for largest Heineken can collection :+
- Bathrooms. Just not enough of them spread out. So many people just taking a leak of the red stage fence. Doesn't bug me but seems like an easy fix.
- Wi-Fi. All four of the people in my group only had one of the five Wi-Fi points actually work for us. We could connect to the others but never send or receive data. Maybe our phones just suck though.
- HEAT IN TENT. It's great having the tent cover when it's raining, but both the Blue and UV stage got quickly uncomfortable when full. Then combining that with a lack of free water stations was pretty painful. I'd fill up a waterbottle in the camping zone but you can't bring those into the fest area. Biggest complaint probably.
- Frontliner's Saturday set was pretty weak compared to Friday's.

Overall much more positives than negatives and I now really do believe you have a better scene over there. Tried to find people at the harderstate meetup on Saturday but had no way to recognize anyone!

Oh and...

I just got back to America today after spending a five day vacation in Amsterdam and then three days in Biddinghuizen for Defqon and spent about 1,400 USD total. BUT I went with my friend who works for an airline and got us standby tickets that were dirt cheap. Usually airfare to Amsterdam from US costs 1,400 alone. So I'd say average would be more like 2,000 if you only stay for the festival. Holland isn't a cheap country, especially with how much stronger the euro is than the USD.
