pffft....FRONTLINER'S TUTORIAL IS THE BASIC OF ALL BASICS!!!
In reality what producers are showing you is just the 10% of their work, only few people know how to make proper kicks a regular kick you hear takes around 4 weeks or more to get finished,in reality not a single producer is gonna show you the proper way on how to make kicks...every one has his little secret

Why does this surprise you? Why does it seem to make you angry?

Of course they're not going to show you the entire process of making a kick. First of all, who's gonna watch a video that takes 3 or 4 weeks to watch? Also, the point of his (and Da Daze, i guess) videos is not to be like "here's how to make a frontliner kick!", as other people said in other threads it covers some of the theory behind making a kick. What benefit would it have to an established producer to give away their secrets? As frontliner says in the video, making a kick is a years-long/never ending process or search for that elusive "perfect" kick... So, thats why he made the video. Here's a starting point people, now go out there and experiment, come up with something using the groundwork i've laid for you. If i was him, or any established producer, I certainly wouldn't want to be like "hey, i've spent years of my life perfecting this shit but now i'm gonna show you exactly how to do it so every bedroom cunt out there can rip me off!"

nah. People expect way too much from the artists they supposedly admire. Frontliner didn't have to make that video at all, but he did!

We be talking Fabfilter Pro-Q, well you can use a Linear Phase if you're planning on not running any other channel at the same time due to the latency it adds :).

Logic's EQ works perfectly fine for kicks. Most EQs use the same algorithms anyway, there isn't really a massive difference in sound only in usability....

You can also archieve nice kicks if you try to combine 2 saw waves with different pitch envelopes + sine wave with dist, of course everything needs proper equalizing

I actually managed to create a decent kick with only Fruity Fast Dist and Parametric Eq 2 (the fruity loops standar, STANDARD!!) didn't think it was possible.
I'm actually using it in a track I'm working on...
There is a prev of the kick here: http://www.soundcloud.com/astroshade - I called it "Kick test + bonus melody", it's not mixed so the volume is pretty low, but you get the picture.
Proudly producing pow-pow-powerful Hardstyle since 2007
