Re: hardstyle samples
Dude seriously?!
If you want to be a producer, why don't you create sounds yourself? I mean.. That's what's it all about.. That's what you're doing it for. Your own signature sounds, the reason people would recognize you for.. If you're using Sweep ups or percussion, that's fine.. Percussion is something you can't make with a vst.. But other sounds... That's just a plain: NO NO NO GO! Create yourself dude.. And if it's too hard to create something yourself.. Just quit.. It sounds harsh or what not.. But then it's just time to stop..

Create your own vst than?
Even if you bought it, you bought like "editable sound bank"
And ofc that isn't samples, that's the vst man!
Jezus christ....
Even if somebody will record his puke and put it in his track on 30sec, ppl will still recognize him like "AAYEE it's The PukeSquad, they always use that sound"
And why percussion is fine to use btw? Because hard to make? Some vst's have drum presets, so make your own too, but to be honest I bet it's to hard isn't it? Better to use samples, cuz they are already done by somebody. Like the VST with "init" which you used for your synth.
Buy your own drum set for percussion is literally the same as your point about quiting

This is childish argument if reallyCreate yourself dude.. And if it's too hard to create something yourself.. Just quit.. It sounds harsh or what not.. But then it's just time to stop..

i see you with my x-ray

If someone can't creatively use a sample, their synthesis won't be creative either.
Using samples in a creative and unique way is as much important as synthesis is.
But i guess it's a personal matter of taste whether you're more sample-orientated or prefer to do everything yourself.
Yeah i don't know any producer that hasn't used the Blutonium Boy sample packs at one stage, Great tools for learning track design and just having fun (not everyone plans on being the next HHz you know
). More packs like this would be great, Tidy Traxx had a pretty sick sample pack but most of them were UK hardhouse samples.

Atmozfears use samples in all of their tracks and just listen to the music they've made.Jay wrote:I agree.ljk32 wrote:No they don't...zanshi wrote:samples kill individuality and your learning curve in sound design.

Just as long as you're creative

lol, some percussions are just too hard to recreate within a VST... I for instance, have got the ability to actually record drum samples or whatever i like. But making percussion is just a whole different language.. I mean, you CAN make it, but it won't sound the same as a recorded drum sample.VOL-E wrote:This is childish argument if reallyCreate yourself dude.. But now, how do you feel when you know or recognize a track with only one-shot samples in it.. You just think it'd be wrong don't you? An init preset will give you nothing.. You'll have to start from scratch. So that's an invalid argument. You'll create a sound only by using the VST, and of course the VST has its own sound, but what do you want? Do you want a VST that doesn't have its own sound, that it has a sound that no one else's heard before?! Then it's probably time to build your own VST, yeah..
And if you record your own puking, why wouldn't you? I mean, it's not that it's in a sample pack or whatsoever.. It's something people haven't heard before, whether it's a sample or not.. (Because you've recorded it on your own/made it) You can sample whatever you like.. As long it isn't something that's available for everyone who likes to use it.. That's just copy/paste : Hey i made a new track.. Nahh.. That's something i will not do..

Vengeance samples were used ALOT in older saifam and other early hardstyle tracks (even kicks and basses).
Imo, some of those tracks still sound better than todays hardstyle, so it just matters how and in what creative way you use these samples.
