It honestly doesn't matter.
Well i use Studio One now and this is what i got using the basic stuff Frontliner used.
I have improoved version, more punch and the tail is more mastared

but what do you guys use to make your kicks?
Microtonic 909 setting > get it sounding right even before ive put external effects onto it. If the kick doesn't sound right then don't go on. Next ill use Tone 2 FilterBnk 3 get some filter going on it and using the tube amp. Next ill use a range of EQ's and distortion to get the sound I want. its not easy, it takes a long time for it to sound right.
I like the Rob Papen Punch drums synth very much.
You can make very extreme kicks and kick tricks with it. Very much distortion like effects to choose.
For hardcore this one is extreme!

Nope, it's not that you really need that plugin. But it really can help you to make it easier. I make my kicks in fl. And i Eq and distort all the time. EQ is the most important thing when you're making kicks. But to say that you can't make a kick without Clip Distortion? Mehh i dont believe that. Frontliner/Arkaine/Adrenalize.
