Synth layering and midi problem

Post by lummerlars »

Once you have created a synth consisting of layers, how do you "control" them all if you for an example want to do a cutoff? Using FL studio :)

And how do you record midi, from a piano connected to Fl studio? I have set it up, and it works fine. I just cant seem to find out how to record stuff into the piano roll if you know what i mean. :P

Imagine building a guitar and then tuning it and then playing it. That's what electronic music is.

In Cubase you can make a group track and assign each layer to that group, and then just control them as 1.
Sure there should be a similar process in FL.

MokumsKid wrote:You need to link all the cutoff's to one controller. Open in your mixer the Fruity X-Y Controller and link every cutoff to the X or the Y-controller. Don't forget to uncheck the "Remove conflicts" option. After that you move the X or the Y parameter a bit and go to menu -> Tools -> Last tweaked -> Create automation clip.

If you don't understand it i will explain it more in detail for you.

Goodluck!
You don't even need a fruity controller. You can route the sounds to one cutoff on one vst.

At the end of my lead tutorial I show how to do this.
