Most of people know that food from expensive italian restaurant is more quality than mcdonalds. But heeeey, with music is only about your opinion! Thats bullshit. In music, quality is simply something you feel when you listen to A LOT of music and you are not musically deaf. And calling sellout radio music without any real soul quality makes me laugh.
Some people like mcdonalds better than some fancy expensive restaurant food. Some people like A, some people like B. To some, commersalized pop/house is quality while [whatever you see as quality] isn't. It's all subjective.
yes. but that is about opinion or taste, not about quality. noone is dumb enough to call mcdonalds quality food. Quality is a factor that lies beyond opinion.
People can have different opinions on what quality is as well. But that's just arguing for the sake of it.. I agree with you there.

I dont really like David Guetta's music that much but I think we are focusing too much on producing here. The name of this is top DJ's not Producers. Yes I know production still influences voting (and it should) and is part of it but we cant forget about the DJ part. DJ's play other peoples music and their own if they produce...David Guetta is a DJ and yea hes very popular . He also knows what the people want to hear like said before . You dont have to DJ yourself to know that DJ's play at clubs and are liked based off their ability to know what people want to hear and keep the party going. (given they've been booked on a night of their type of music not a rock concert)
As far as strictly DJing goes Im not surprised or mad that hes in the top 10 but he shouldn't be number 1 imo just because he plays his own music in his sets lol. He has a good ability to know whats popular and that reflects in the music he makes also. Good on him for that. I cant hate on Twitter/Facebook/etc because if a voting type of event going down you're just stupid for not using it if you have access to it. There are people that can like your music but not know about the contest itself.
Like before even his production ties back to his DJing and the ability to know what people want. He enjoys making it also Im sure. If the vote were for production alone and not DJing then I would never vote for him (not that I already did).
I dont really like the terms sellout or mainstream because even if someone makes tracks or has other influences in their new stuff based off of what people like, its not like they hated making the track themselves just for the sake of gaining fans. If they love what they are making and are excited about it then hey why not make music they love and entertain a wider range of people. I think that a lot of producers are getting called "sellouts" based off of only a few tracks. Its when they completely forget about the fans that gave them the ability to rise a bit and gain some popularity that I can understand some hate....or COMPLETELY changing genres for good. Gotta stick to your roots in some way : )

In music it is... what is quality then?
the heart for not making money and the heart for music
Like you know if a producer made it from the heart or not. And why is that quality?

Because you think it doesn't have any real soul it ain't quality. Yeah that's really objective.... :?

Who cares about some bullshit poll, as long as you can find music you like from artists who suit your tastes, thats all that matters. We're all smart enough on here to realise what music we like without a DJ poll (unlike the 98% who voted in this poll)
