Re: Listenable Pop Music

I don't get why everyone has such a big problem with pop music, I like many songs in the charts, especially when I'm on local parties. It's nothing I listen to at home on regular basis, but songs from Rihanna, David Guetta, Ne-Yo, Lady Gaga, B.O.B. etc. are catchy and nice to dance to. The only thing I really hate are heartless, wannabe-deep and cheesy pop ballads

Also I listen to very much older pop music I grew up with, for example stuff from Phil Collins / late Genesis, Brian Adams, Journey, Foreigner and some Eurodance stuff

mostly agree with you here, although I find some of these RnB mixed with house really annoying.

One thing I miss about many of those party/charts-R'n'B and House tracks is that they lack of a distinctive vibe, there's no scene, no idea - no "soul" behind many of these tracks, and that's the reason why I don't listen to them for myself. When I listen to music, I want some kind of a "cinema" in my head that is created by the songs and that's something that totally doesn't happen to me when I listen to most of the modern charts stuff.

Aloe Blacc, Adele and Hurts are an exception in the charts, I really appreciate their stuff in another way than many other pop songs ;)

Agree, that's pretty nice stuff and works really well in clubs :) I also listen to it at home every now and then...

Martin Solveig ft. Dragonette - Hello
I actually really like that track...Despite the fact that it's really popular in Europe now, I've never actually heard it once on any American radio stations.
