Listenable Pop Music

Post by Q-Rater »

Once in a bluemoon, the mainstream manages to send good music to the top of the charts. Not so much lately, but in the 90's and early 00's there is quite a bit of listenable pop IMO.
So, any tracks your ashamed to admit you like? (Must be in mainstream charts of any given country)
Some of mine are post-spoiler

Well I know it has gone to shit lately but I think that song by Chris Brown saying people are beautiful because of what's inside is good because it is sending a nice message to young people that don't fully understand the lyrics of the songs they like.

Don't think anybody gives a shit about that.
The average 11 year old is already lyrically depraved.

Well Pretty fly is not really Pop.

But to the topic, I would recommend 80's and 90's Pop like Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys f.e.

What would the definition of pop be anyway?
Mainstream?
Cheesified music?

Pop can usually be divided in rap, rock and dance. so meh

not quite sure whether she is pop, i'm pretty sure her fans would argue about this. I love her so much, she is the best female singer i know _O_ i highly recommend checking some of her albums.

I'm aware that it's probably not entirely pop, but this is what i understand under the term "listenable pop" :) Would be glad to get it corrected, what genre are those if someone feels like that.
Also i can stand Natasha Bedingfield, Maroon 5

Well for the purposes of this thread its defined as anything in the mainstream charts in any country (Billboard 100 for U.S. Aria Charts for Australia etc.) That was why I pointed out where they were in the charts for the ones I posted

I fuckin love Owl City, but I consider him a bit different to most other pop artists. His stuff is inspired.
