Alright, so i'm hoping to buy some good quality headphones this x-mas
I'm looking for something under $80
I want to hear the hard bass & still hear the clarity of a mind-blowing melody!
I also want to use these for producing. It'd be nice if they were good for mobility and came with a nice case or something:) haa. :p

I'm getting the AKG K-181 DJ Studioheadphones for producing. Heard very good stories about them, and I have listened to the sound of them, which is stunning _O_

You will be best saving up for a little longer to get better headphones. £80 wont be enough for professional headphones, unless you just want a good pair for listening to an ipod.

If you like bassy headphones I recommend either the Sony MDR-XB500 or the Sony MDR-XB700 they are both within your price range. The XB-500 has a more punchy type of bass and the XB700 has more of the sub-bass.
As for studio monitoring around your price range I suggest the Sennheiser HD280 Pro it has a very flat neutral sound.

AKG's are an EXCELLENT choice, wonderful headphones, very deep basses, crisp upper freqs and crystal clear mids
below 80€ would be the K-121's, i produce with 181's, which also are my dj'ing headphones
and i think of buying 701's for studio/home, i also used to have some in-ears (K 314 P)
and i REALLY think nothing can compare : P

here a link for the 121's

You're making the right decision. Sennies are the only headphones I've ever owned.
If you're on a really tight budget, don't worry. You can pick up HD 212 Pros for well under $80 (or the model down - HD 202 for even less). Really good bass in both of these.
For a little more $ I'd recommend the HD 280 Pro. My mate has these and they're excellent as well.
Like the other guys said, you get what you pay for. It's worth investing in a better pair to really make the most of the sounds.
I'm currently using HD 448s. Mids are great and highs are exceptional, but tbh the lows are quite disappointing.
Now I'm thinking about it, I might pick up a new pair for Christmas too :p
