Is it still allowed with baby parties where they reveal gender?. I thought by now all new born babies in snowflakefornia would be classified as non-binary they/themReverse Ghost wrote:Forest fires have more or less been commonplace on the west coast since the past few years. Not those fires currently listed in the map, however last year and I think the gear before there were a number of large fires sparked by families setting off explosives to show off the color blue or pink

Carrying this over from the Reasons to be sad thread since it's more relevant to this thread.
Germany has already rescinded certification of the pipeline between them and Russia. With incoming NATO sanctions, Russia will be feeling the heat. And by Russia I mean the Russian people will suffer. And when the Russian people suffer due to the actions of their government... Well we all should know what happened during the years of the revolutions after deposing the Tsar.
This whole situation leading up to this is what the Polish government thought, and is why they've begun beefing up their military in recent years. Putin should know better than to try and invade the nations whose people already had to deal with his flavor of fuckery in the past, the USSR, among former empires from that side of the continent. This whole debacle is a direct result of the imperialism that governments in Russia have been wanking off to for generations. This obviously isn't the first conflict of this type, and definitely isn't the final.
This post is from the point of view from an American with just a casual knowledge of the context for this situation. I am not an expert by any means, feel free to correct me or otherwise!
A whole mess of "Americans" feel the same as you described. Pretending that this entire conflict is Biden's fault and that Russia should receive support. No surprise given that the "hero" for many of the "people" here is the businessman who sucked Putin's cock and balls.ceero wrote:Oh I don't let myself be fooled. I'm from Slovakia. According to a recent sociological research, well over 55% of Slovaks support Putin and think that the whole situation in Ukraine is the fault of USA. That is the highest percentage out of the entire European union. One of the reasons I hate Slovakia and basically why I don't like there for over 5 years now.lilfrenchidiot wrote:You would not like to see French Twitter atm :/ceero wrote:And especially fuck all the Putinofiles and tankies in the west.
Direct military action from NATO would create an even larger conflict that may also ignite the powder keg of the China/Taiwan relationship, in which China can just straight up steamroll Taiwan while everyone else is busy. Of course military action would also be a war of attrition on both sides, but especially for Russia. This wouldn't go over well with the Russian people at all.Shodan wrote:I heard NATO can't anexate a country in conflict and until now the attacks seem to cease as Russia just demonstrated their power by disarming and bombing several Ukraine military bases, they're not targetting civilians but bombs do not distinguish between civilian or army.
Only thing other countries can do for Ukraine is attack the Russian economy, actual warfare will only escalate the conflict to levels that none of the sides want, trying to dialogate with Russia it's likely impossible, Unkraine loses anyway.

Same here, lot's of variants to make an accurate statement, in my little informed opinion, anything that may happen it seems Ukraine is the only one losingReverse Ghost wrote:This post is from the point of view from an American with just a casual knowledge of the context for this situation. Their recent punishment against Russia seems contradictory as USA, EU and UK may keep buying Russian resources
It's really weird how each country are playing their cards, Ukraine defense saying they shoot down airplanes while their twitter account is shitposting, Russia saying they're the ones being attacked and that there was no opposing force while firing at Kyiv and USA/EU says there's gonna be consecuences while still trading with them
A very complex situation, but we all hope for the best

My opinion...
Best case: Putin takes the "Russian" eastern provinces of Ukraine and leaves it at that, being satisfied with further encroachment on the Black Sea (like a pig is ever satisfied).
Worst case A: Putin attempts to take the capital and leave the western cities in an orphaned state so they are forced to join the Russian state.
Worst case B: Putin just storms the entire country and claims it as Russian clay, opening the door to attempt to invade Poland, a NATO member, along with Lithuania and Latvia through the puppet government state that is Belarus, sparking an actual global conflict.
If it comes to Worst B however Poland absolutely will fight like hell, their military has been beefing itself up in recent years. The sentiment toward Russia, Putin the Pig in particular in Poland, is also fairly negative. I wouldn't blame most people for seeing this situation as the start of Putin trying to restore USSR/Tsarist Empire borders.
Right now all that's best to do is wait and see, and hope whatever happens winds up with the least bloodshed and hopefully the least greed. Knowing Putin however that last part is doubtful.
Ukraine did fight back, however, with reports of multiple Russian planes down as well as a number of casualties. Russia only seemed to specifically strike military targets, but bombs don't discriminate between soldiers and civilians.
FYI a lot of my education on this subject mostly comes from this youtube channel, who has been keeping a close eye on this even before the current headlines.

As I finished typing that, I realized that B would wind up being a very likely solution. However...
