Well, neither I am a popular figure nor any charismatic, but still I can appeal urgently to the ones being unsure if they should vaccinate:

This particular sacrifice could prevent a fifth wave from happening, save a few of your favorite event organisers and allow you to party, yeehaw.
Also, from my experience, you'll be working much more efficiently with the 5G flowing through your body. The government is tracking my way from bed to the toilet with nanotechnology instead of my mobile phone now.
And it might even save a few thousand lives, but who cares about old and ill people anyway.

Now seriously, if you want this shit to end, there is no other way.

Sorry to kill your reality but the vaccinations are not really effective anymore. They've already lost some effectiveness after the delta variant and theres even a delta v2 variant already. You would have to boost vulnerables to get like 6 months of protection even so you do still spread the virus. Vaccinations should've been forced during summer months and imo you have to test yourself even while being vaccinated to break the wave.

The situation will be even more dramatic as the vulnarable people will lose more and more of their immunity with the months passing by. To keep the 6th/7th wave somehow away the next year you'll either need an even less effective 4th shot later or an improved vac.

Either way it seems the virus gets less deadly and more infective over time. So i do expect less deadly cases next year in general.
All those factors do lead to the recommendation of vaxing 50+ and vulnurable groups and let the virus flow around the other people to get a natural and more effective immune reaction while keeping infected people at home and the all around contacts moderate.

Right now school kids and partys do spread the virus the most. High numbers are do to school kids getting tested in school. Valnurables do get i'll due to vaxers doing everything they allowed to do which wasn't the case last year.
Be a pioneer, don't chase the tail. Don't follow the path.
Blaze the trail.

Vaccinations ate still pretty effective? Just the duration of the effectiveness sucks. The kids as main-drive seems to be a wrong assumption, cos their total number is not as high as from other groups. 80% vaccination is indeed statistically needed. Sadly, people didn't care enough so far and 400 corona deaths/day in Germany will be reality again very soon.

Edit: sad to see people saying "kill my reality" while I base my stuff on facts and not conspiracy theories. Just another indicator why this is hard to overcome

what is the opinion of the harder scene on this?

violence is never ok so we could just stop there but it wasn't violent here and there have been large rallies the entire weekend in large cities. I see what the media is doing, anyone against discrimination (or other measures in other countries) are extremists but it's just not true is it haha. actually it's a right/left coalition of current and former members of other parties, such as the greens, that are against measures here. new parties have been created, like the free left, getting behind what really is a left-wing cause. mainstream left-wing parties didn't want to take this up but it couldn't be a more left wing cause :p there are people who are vaccinated but against discrimination, for 2 doses but against 3, students fighting against measures and against climate change, teachers and nurses, it's invoked or co-opted all sorts of things like mass surveillance, people's right to choose, I don't think these are right-wing causes. I see a lot of right/left solidarity on this issue, maybe more than at any time in my life

Just curious what other countries think, seems to be a good time for party organizations to make a stand, perhaps building on those protests earlier this year. but I don't say what other people should do..that's just what it seems to me

the sooner we stop this left/right bullshit and just deal with issues on face value, the better.

Think all of europe needs a 4-6 week lockdown to clear out the shit so hopefully you can be open in January/February with half the current case load.

Or just get vaccinated - a significant difference between 65% and 85% double vaxxed

No disrespect but I'd be real fucking careful taking advice on these matters from Australia. It'd be like taking advice on gunlaws from Murrica.

It would cause more harm probably.

A lot of people income and living expenses come from Internet.

If you don't have cash you won't be able to buy anything in stores since cards won't work either.
And tons of people only have money in form of cards or crypto.

It would be a chaos.

No need to get into arguments. Take your point and dip my hat, but long bow to draw there.
