Just connect the recording-output (or a master-output) of your mixer with the line-in input of your soundcard. Then you can directly grab the signal coming from your mixer.

Otherwise you could use an external device to record it but that's certainly not the easiest way.

Hmm I've tried this method using audacity to record, but the sound quality is awful!

Any suggestions?

Well, even with an on-board sound card it shouldn't too much of a problem getting a fine sound. Just try to switch around a bit, some mixers are having a problem with certain in- and outputs. Sometimes the mic-in on the sound card works better than the line-in.

What heny said ;)

I have sound on board and have a nice and clean sound via mic in. I am using the No23 Recorder to keep my mixes :)

Hey guys cheers for the replies!

I've sorted it now. My monitors can connect to my laptop via USB, I set Audacity to record from these and the sounds perfect :D

Maybe you all could help me out with a little problem (I could've made a new topic for this issue, but this one is kinda similar).

I have my mixer (DJM-400) connected to my computer through my M-Audio Fast Track Pro so I can mix. Only I have no idea how to record it (or stream)!

How am I able to stream (which program should I use:) ?

P.S. I have a MacBook Pro, so I have no line-in like normal PC's have!
