As I said in the unreleased topic, the usual problem with nowadays euphoric imo.. (or well, more like a AoC problem because there are a lot of artists still making actual GOOD melodies), but most of AoC doesn't manage to give me any chicken skin anymore.

Midintro awesome, melody & climax boring. Although I must say JGSW (some A-RIZE stuff, although he's not involved in this track) have a bit more special melodies.

thanks Rocko for organizing this :)
OT: The track is not bad and not outstanding either. I admit, the melody does its job to become an earworm, but personally I prefer something more unpredictable (like 'Dance Again') or appealing (like that NC x A-RIZE track).

Mostly agree. I also think that a big reason why most Eternity tunes are super forgettable is that they rarely build a strong theme or identity. Usually very monogenous with eachother in terms of structure and sound selection; rawphoric mid-intro with similar-ish kicks, vocal break with singing voice and some pads or plucks in background, similar-ish lead showing the melody, climax with said melody with similar-ish main kick, 2nd break, either 2nd climax or anti.

Sure, this "formula" applies to many more artists than just Eternity, but I think the biggest thing that makes a track interesting is making it stand out in some way by giving it a theme or just making fresh choices somewhere, which isn't really being done in most Eternity releases, most of them feel like the same track. Compare Eternity tunes to Wildstylez tunes for example. High quality, and sure, formulatic in some ways, but instead of the tunes sounding like copypasted and tweaked versions of eachother, he manages to give a strong identity to every one of them.

Not a producer or a song-writer myself so can't really say what are the best ways of creating a strong identity, but I'd imagine good ways are stuff like unique sound effects being used in multiple parts of the song, unique sound engineering to twist the sounds (Bas being a master at this), atmospheric elements that have some theme going on and possibly relate to the lyrics, shaking up the song structure or making more unexpected melodic/rhythmic choices.
Opinion is the medium between knowledge and ignorance

Meryll _O_ _O_ _O_ . She should win some awards for vocals and writing.
