What are the key essentials for a really good reverse bass?
Camelphat is one I know and EQing but what else can there be for a really wide and powerful reverse bass?

Camelphat isn't essential, you need to do a lot of eq'ing and distorting and other things, but it takes time to make a good reverse bass

You will need a few distortion plugins, I recommand using ohmicide. You make a very crunchy kick, reverse it, cut the punch, make another punch, put it before the bassline, and you still haven't finished.
