PS - Speaking of super early hardstyle - if anyone was a fan of Stik Records, almost all of their catalogue came online to buy at Juno Download late last week :)

I've been wondering for a looooooong time... Is Speedwave - Zhangar a ripoff of Zanza Labs - Control The mind or the other way around? Both are the same year and the exact release date itself doesn't mean much (vinyl era). And it's rather impossible to do a first played rip backsearch, good luck finding rips from that era :+ i was liatening to hardstyle back than already but honestly cant remember at all, maybe someone else who was around at that time with a better melody?

I never thought them to be that similar or a rip.........same key and all I guess and same first 8 notes/triplets, etc , but not a rip (off top of my head without listening to them again, that is)

There's quite a big difference in the melodies to me. I do find it a bit funny that the time in both those tracks that the melody is introduced is longer than the entire length of most "extended mix" tracks these days :+

TFW Tatanka played both tracks in his Qlimax 2006 set however they are very similar sounding tracks.
Zhangar has a much better climax though imo, and Control The Mind has a better mid-intro.

Seeing the lineup for the Project 1 event has gotten me really excited for future remixes, having had the Headhunterz remix EP I started think what if they're also doing a Wildstylez remix-ep and a Project 1 ep (special for the event?) with maybe even branching out and letting Sefa do a remix for a P1 track.

I like the idea of this! :fist:
