Hey, I want to buy new speakers for my desk. I'am not a producer, just want to hear music on them. Got a Gigabyte 970A-UD3 mainboard.
What would you guys recommend? Budget: 500-700 €.

Someone suggested me those:

You wont connect monitor speakers to a PC motherboard, you need a interface. Those things take in balanced 1/4jacks or XLR's.

Id recommend KRK Rokit 8s for listening. They sound very hifi, lots of bass, lots of treble. Youd be able to throw in a interfance.

You can also go with Yamaha HS8 + Interface.

Should I pick up this one or is there another one that you guys would recommend?
And what about a Subwoofer, or isn't it necessary with those monitors?

That will be good enough for your use, those monitors have 8'inch woofers/main drivers, I highly doubt you will need a sub.

Okay, guys. I purchased all three monitors to test them. The Presonus Eris 8 and KRK Rokit 8 ones had like no bass at all. You definitely need a sub to use them. After I tested them, I was like "Should I even unpack the Yamaha one, guess they lack at bass too". But no, those have a lot of bass and I'am really happy with them. _O_
The KRK Rokit 8 ones sounded really nice, tho. but the lack of bass was sad :O

Yas, if you cannot hear bass from 8 inch monitors then they are either broken, or incorrectly placed in your room.(or alternatively you live in a closet).

Can anyone recommend me some good speakers for producing (mainly testing my kicks and stuff) that doesn't cost a fortune but is still useful? Can I get something good for under 160 euros per monitor? I am a noob so it's probably not a good idea to buy something expensive. I'd be very thankful

Go to a music store and try out speakers, pick a pair you like, that have a good, flat bass response, which are in your price range.

I've said this a billion times already.
I'm grumpier than you.

Do people even read these?

Would you mind explaining "flat bass response"?

I'm sorry I asked... I don't really want to read loads of pages for just this piece of advice.
The reason I asked is because I live in a small town. I've to go to Stockholm to find these type of stores and it takes over an hour for me to get there (I have to travel by train). I prefer to order my equipment since it will save me both time, energy and money.

Anyways, does anyone think two of these will do: http://image.4sound.com/i/69289/Behring ... 0-y400.jpg? Product info: http://www.behringer.com/en/products/b1030a.aspx
These costs 112€ and looks like they could work for amateur production purposes.
