iampsych:Sooooooo much KRK's all over the topic :D i just dont get it :D

KRKs give more of a "muddy" output

Just lemme correct that for you :P

KRK's are popular because they are cheap and were marketed extremely well. For the same price you could have a lovely set of Yamaha HS*, low end mackies or Adams .. or a 2nd hand pair of Genelecs or Dynaudios if you were lucky.

Krk might be good for hifi , but for mixing Adams or Genelecs :)

There's also a great deal of taste involved as well as knowing your monitors. If one doesn't like the sound of for instance a Genelec but does like the sound of a KRK, one would be stupid to buy the Genelec just because the figures say it's better.

Not saying that this is my opinion, I've worked with both and like both. Tho taste and knowing your monitors is as important as good monitors imo, so that could explain why people would pick KRK :)

Okay, i'll be honest with you guys. :).
When i started to take production seriously and earned money for a studio i directly go for KRK. I had (and still haven't that much) pretty much no experience with the sound quality of monitors. I only knew KRK and Genelec and That Genelec was far to expensive for the amount of money i earned back then. So without any knowledge i went for the KRK RK6. I absolutely loved the diffrence in sound (i had logitech back then), and i still do! Years later i still haven´t heared a Genelec set or any other. But my skill in production has increased anyway. :)

Like i said i still have to hear other monitors to compare them with my krk and some probably will sound better.

I probably was way to ignorant with my descisions. but hey we all learn in our own ways now do we? :)

This btw is what i have now:
Image

2x Reloop Rmp-1
Pioneer djm-350 (recently bought)
Roland tb-3 Touch bassline (recently bought. I absolutely love the acid sound, thats why i bought it. The acid sound will be in my future projects quite regularly)
2x Krk RK6
Roland a-500S (Will be replaced with something with more programmable options)
Lexicon Omega Audio Interface (Not really that satisfied with this one. Will be one of the things to replaced soon.)
2x auralex pads
RØDE nt1 a Conderser mic

And a fairly good PC. :)
i5-3570K
and 16GB's ram
in succession from the past to the present.. and on to the future!
