Hardstyle + Manchester = ?

England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales

Postby G-Reen » 28 May 2018, 18:03

Hi all. So I have recently moved to Manchester and I have been struggling find any venue that would play anything harder than a popsy edm/old hip hop or even just a person who would like hardstyle or anything similar to it, most people haven't even heard of it so yeah, I just wanted to ask you all if hardstyle is really so alien for people of Manchester or I have just been looking into the wrong direction? Any info would be appreciated as I am dying from boredom here, a weekend warrior needs some proper action! :D :D

Do they still have events at Bowlers (next to Old Trafford)? When I lived in Chester years ago that’s where we used to go. Not really hardstyle but UK hardcore, hard house etc.

Other that at least you are near Manchester airport to fly to Holland :-)

... you’ve got a Keeping the rave Alive stage at Creamfields (Kutski lives in Ellesmere Port) but that’s nothing compared to the Dutch events.

Hmm, I will look into Bowlers, haven't heard of the place yet and yeah, true about being close to the airport, I might honestly pack my bags one day and move to the Netherlands, that is for damn sure that nobody is even close to the level of dedication they've got for harder styles!

Where did you live before Manchester?

There are same hardstyle events at the Beaverworks in Leeds I believe. That is only 45 mins train from central Manchester.

Before that I lived in Belgium, and I'm gonna have to look into Leeds. I'm just a bit shocked that most of the people don't even know what this is and when they hear it they almost get scared or something :D

Headhunterz isn't really my thing but I see he is playing in Manchester on October 6th:

Looks far too 'housey' for me.

I live in Leeds and there's sometimes stuff on here. Check out GIS events run by a guy called Nick Howgate who also does events in the north generally i think. There was one last October at Beaver Works and Phuture Noize & Regain were there https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/gis5/

There was one in May where Sub Zero Project & Clockartz were there http://leeds.carpediem.cd/events/516578 ... ver-works/

Looks like the next one is in November http://leeds.carpediem.cd/events/693505 ... ver-works/

I've been to a hard event at Bowlers before but I don't think they do much hardstyle anymore. If you find anything, let me know!

There is also Goodgrief Extra Hard, with Sub Zero Project + Sefa in Newcastle (5th October):

The line-up for Infexious in Glasgow looks pretty good too:
