Goliath Sounds

Post by Netris »

You probably know Goliath Sounds and its Clip Distortion, Venm. As of late, their web site is just a white page and their twitter account has been inactive. I was wondering if anybody knew what happend to them. I wanted to give a try to the other one of their plug-in, Audox, but can't.

Yeah I have no idea... I have a license of venm but are not able to unlock the demo version because it needs to contact the server which is down... got pretty pissed actually. The facebook page is down and they are not answering on the twitter page... :(
So if anyone has any information... I am interested as well! ;)

Seems to be freeware now, it's free to download on Software Informer and doesn't require a license anymore.

Here's the link to it - http://venm.software.informer.com/download/

But can someone confirm where this came from, did Goliath Sounds upload it to Software Informer? I don't trust random .exe files from random download sites :p (especially as big sites such as Sourceforge went to shit, bundling adware and spyware with installers).

That being said, I still have Vemn installed from when I bougth it, but It's nice to have a backup of it if I ever need to reinstall, that's why I'm asking.

It's still a demo. Click the thing in the lower right corner for the second page and you can see it is missing some features. It would have to be cracked to get the full version.

Yeah but it doesn't cut out the audio like the demo did. Maybe the developers just disabled that and uploaded it. Seems to work fine for me, and since Goliath has pretty much dissapeared from the internet theres no telling. I just found it an hour ago after googling it for 2 minutes, but Software Informer should still be a credible site so i'm not that worried about malware, Malwarebytes and Windows Defender come up clean aswell.

It's a nice distortion unit. It's not Logic's Clip Dist as everybody seemed to believe in the beginning, but it still has some nice feature like the symmetry and pre and post distortion filters. But it lacks polish. Put the symmetry all the way to 100% and you'll ruin your sound. Nevertheless, you can still make good use of it.
