Well, what can I say?

Show spoiler
The start was really unstructured imo. First hour was a mess story wise, way below the level that I expected. Force awakens was way better even though this was a cool movie. I do like how they are trying to start a new chapter by killing all the old characters. Need to think for a few days before I do a proper analyzation! Rating today, 6/10. To be continued...

Been processing my thoughts for while now and I feel ready to make a proper review. A lot of spoilers, so don't click if you don't want to know.

Show spoiler
First of all, it's starting to show that Disney is doing this their way, and not in good way sadly enough. Sure, SW has always had a bit childish vibe when it comes to the jokes, but it still hasn't affected that overall "dark" feeling of the series. That changed completely with this movie and it feels really disrespecting to the fans and franchise. Force awakens got my hopes for this trilogy, just so that they could be crushed by The last jedi. If you buy the whole fucking SW-franchise, then you should fucking respect what it is. Disney does not respect it one bit, which they proved by this film.

Story wise, it was a cool though that was executed horribly. I mean, it all played out during the course of one day ish? Wtf is that.. The first hour of the movie jumped back and forth with no proper structure what so ever, and if it weren't for the recognizable ships, I would barely realize that I was watching a SW movie..

The way that they executed Luke's role was just horrible. The guy who managed to turn Darth Vader, restore balance to the force and create hope for the future is now just a grumpy old man who has given up everything? I don't buy it, what did they think with when they wrote this? He also deserved a much better death than what he got. Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing he died, but not like this. Mark Hamil's performance wasn't very good either, everything just felt very forced and lacked spirit.

And how easy did Snoke get killed? Like wtf, this is a fucking guy who is about to take over the whole Galaxy. Badly written story. The whole scene though where Rey and Kylo absolutely makes a massacre was fucking amazing though (if I forget the story for 3 minutes).

Rose didn't fill a proper purpose. Her role destroyed what could have been the most awesome and touching part of this movie by "saving" Finn. He should have been sacrificed, just as he intended.

Yesterday, I rated this 6/10. Today, I rate it 5/10. It's clear that they are trying to "kill off" the old to build a new story. But as of now, it feels like they are killing the whole franchise. It makes me really fucking sad. :(

Ye I honestly don't know what Disney is doing. A great franchise getting an unworthy end by milking every last cent out of it and not even trying to keep the spirit. Big ass shite commercial shit

After all this negativity I wanna quote my friend:
I get it
Why people dont like it
Because Rian Johnson doesnt care what you think is Star Wars
And thats why its great
All my gripes are because I put this lore on a pedestal
Luke even addresses that in the movie
That he was a legend
People want predictability
They want everything to be connected

This pretty much sums it up. I am glad Rian just did what he felt like, because you can never really satisfy the SW "superfans".

Sure, it has some stuff to criticize, but I loved it nevertheless. More than TFA which I also loved though.

Agree a lot man.

Soooo... whole movie is based on 2,5 scenes... Fucking starship, rocky islands and 0,5 for the casino and that salty planet... Luke really?
p.s. But I must admit Luke with AT-AT background looked fucking awesome!

Scene jumps... Starship got a few hours, and Rey spends like a week with Luke at the same time, wtf?

Chewy burns that chicken, BURNS! And only then when he saw those, his like "oh now, I wont eat it"

With all respect to Carrie, but why you kept her alive? that scene in outer space wouldve been really great. But noooo, some magic powers brought her back to the ship...

Whole 7th episode so lots of hype of "who is Snouk?"... And he died even worser than Bane... Still number 1 are held by Rain & Sheeva from MK2 movie. What was the point adding him in the first place?

Finn & chinese girl, why? They could both died in this chapter and it would be logical. That part on starship, lol... sorrounded by thousands of stormtroopers, and all of them are gone after blast, expect them. And those who were near them, survived and teleported for like 50m awa? Really facepalm. But again, both are saved, and I dont understand how Finn moved her so fast threw that salty desert, when they spended so much time for to drive.

This movie is a one big joke. Thanks Disney!
I take you through the night... through the night... show you all those city lights!

This is on point! Feel the same way. Even my dad which is the biggest SW fan I know really loves the movie! Not everything has to be aligned.

I probably watch it again next week because I was so stunned. Even tho the first hour was pretty unstructured indeed. But for me the following keeps up with that.

My opinion on "The last Jedi".

Show spoiler
Of course, there were many unrealistic scenes. But that's SW! Star Wars is fantasy and as a whole lives on unrealistic and almost unimaginable scenes for people. If you put such worth on reality, then you can not look at fantasy. I see it quite positively with many films and series under different directors. Because the same is done for years in the SW novels. Quite successfully. For every taste there are novels in the SW worlds and galaxies. I have read a lot and can say that there are many books that did not impress me. But it's incredibly revealing, because you can experience so many details and these are then linked to the other books, movies, series, comics, video games and so on. It's a wonder that the story-group still sees through! :)

I think the movie is very exciting and I think when the third part of the trilogy comes out, everything will come together again and in 20 years many fans will speak and rave about this trilogy too.

What a suitable degree. My english is lousy and I have no idea if the word "rave" in this case is the right translation, but it just fits perfectly in this forum! (L)
