I always reference the time that the Spanish guy joined Meccano Twins and Endymion's pop-core album as the time mainstream went to utter rubbish :( (late 2010ish)

I find the only good mainstream producer now is Angerfist hahaha

Exactly that. Meccano Twins used be such a great and diverse alias with weird tracks, maindustrial tracks, doom-ish tracks and regular mainstream, but since the spanish dude came along it's literally only terrible uptempo.

I'm eagerly awaiting the end of the cycle because it's the worst it's ever been imo.

And just in the event that anyone from the labels that actually holds sway in the scene, should stumble upon this thread - please read our messages and right this wrong that is the hardcore scene of today. It's utter bollocks.

Meh, nothing for me. :(

And yeah, mainstream hardcore has been overflooded by the faster stuff. I have nothing against faster hardcore (Nosferatu & Furyan - Killswitch (L) ), but the tracks do really often sound empty and just concentrating on silly vocals and a kick. I have noticed that I don't check new releases that often anymore, except for some artists, of which I know they're usually quality, so maybe I might have missed some of the good stuff. :+

Some of the mainstream tracks I have loved this year:

Ophidian - Running On Empty
Promo - Salvation (Part 2)
Nosferatu - Lived Again / And Died Again
DJ Mad Dog - Why Me? (haven't checked the rest of the album yet)
E-Force & Tha Playah - Distorted Noises

Edit: Just checked Tha Playah - Controlled By Chaos (L)

Could this be because Spain had Makina popular in the past, or do the conquistadors just love fast shit?

I agree that this track is bad and I found it interesting what the fans of hardcore had to say about this whole topic. While my main music is hardstyle I also listen to hardcore occasionally but just as Emre stated, I had no idea the
situation was that bad.
I always had fun with the recent releases of Furyan, Tha Playah, Neox or Javi Boss but again I am no expert.

Btw: Juanma - Remember My Name (Hellsystem Remix) is still one of the best HC tracks I heard and that's from 2012, so one year after it "became shit" ;)
I hear home in that bass

The track is terrible as expected.

Digital Punk did nothing exceptional good after his Escape From Reality album. His productions are at least since 2013 mostly shit, at least for my taste. I wouldn't mind, if he left the scene.

And yeah, also I didn't knew that the situation in the hardcore scene is that bad nowadays, I used to listen to it till 2012.

It's a possibility. Another is that he genuinely likes this trash and wants to produce it endlessly. (Not that I understand)

agreed on the demise of the meccano twins, there was a period between like 2004 and 2011 where if I saw a new release from them I would immediatley buy the record without even listening to the tracks first

imo, i noticed losing interest around the demise of mid-town - I know I often end up complaining about the lack of vinyl releases but have noticed the decline in quality of the tracks from the artists I used to be hyped on correlates with the decline of physical releases - I watched it happen in other scenes I also used to follow first in the mid 2000's tbh

without any investment needed upfront from the labels, there doesn't really need to be any quality control in the finished product, and its quicker to release meaning its easier to just keep releasing quantity, riding on the hype of whatever is popular at the time to stay relevant as I doubt mp3 sales make much so you gotta keep taking MainStage bookings - so I look now at a lot of artists following trends, that used to shape them and its a shame but I guess I don't blame them as you gotta get paid

just fortunate that prospect and a few smaller labels are still killing it _O_

Meccano twins was good back in the day. Now it's just garbage. Didn't know a Spanish guy joined the group. Hence , why it went garbage I guess.

ROFL....DP is one of the better raw producers of the scene, even if the themes polarise raw fans on forums

ps - his mainstream track on Furyan's album is a bit nicer, even with lil' john vocals

I don't mean Digital Punk's productions are bad in the technical way. DP is of course a good producer, but his tracks are mostly extremely boring and uncreative and that for quite some time now. I was a bit harsh with what I wrote above.

It's not the end of the world. You'll always find new interesting tracks in Hardcore even in 2017, but the artists might not be the same as the ones you used to like. Not restricting yourself with arbitrary rules on BPM/noise/aggressiveness/professionalism/loosely related styles/whatever helps having more cool tracks to listen.
