Label: The Third Movement
Release Date: 11-09-2017
Format: CD & Digital
Source: http://www.ttmshop.nl/a-49517717/promo/promo-authentic/

The king is back! This is Authentic, the Promo album ready to destroy limits. Knowing where you're from and where you're headed is the trick in staying true to yourself. Keeping it real, hardcore style. As kicks evolve and melody remains, this return to form is what defines the Promo sound. Music without limitations. Getting your freak on in the studio, on the dancefloor, wherever! As long as the bass drums are hard and the sound is pure. Like a crypto currency that increases in value every kick of the drum, Authentic just keeps on growing.

From the first sounds of `The sheep dog' to the high tempo madness that is `Vergif', this ultra combo of a release get things going. Promo knows his way around the keys and it shows. From dancing deep in the dark abyss to reaching high in the sky for pure enlightenment, Authentic delivers the goods. Special mention goes out to Ophidian and Myréan who co-produced / are featured in `Born to break', a subtle composition that will take you by storm. Packing the prism of sound that is Authentic, hardcore is in for a treat. Big kicks, distorted experiments and killer melody to crank your speakers.

The impact is Authentic! So fold your bills, get ready and best of all: play it loud!

First yt preview:

I like this one. Reminds me of 2009-ish TTM mainstream.

The abundance of slow stuff doesn't surprise me, (and I love it too) as Promo has been very open with his distaste of only uptempo in todays scene. Says it reminds him too much of the scene in the late 90s, right before it collapsed.
From the short preview video and the Ophidian collab, I have high hopes for this album.
All hail the king! _O_

Lot's of tasty slower stuff featured as it seems (L) Great to see that Promo doesn't follow the dumbtempo cancer trend and stays true to his signature sound! My hopes are high :fist:

Not really interested in the melodic stuff, but if there are some tracks like B-Side Shit then might turn good :)

So happy to see my #1 artist getting all these positive reactions! (L) Of course there are always tracks on his albums that I don't like, but it's more about the bigger picture and the albums as a whole anyway. Maybe it's partially me, but his music has a certain kind of soul that many others miss. From beautiful to rough and anything in between, often including a message/statement = the definition of the word hardcore for me! :)

Born to Break is awesome, but as it's with Ophidian, I couldn't expect anything less. :P Still, it's not as good as Lord of Undow, which is a 100% true Promo masterpiece. A strong contender with Ophidian - Running On Empty as TOTY for me! Perfect! (L) Not everything from the teaser pleased me, but I'll wait for the full tracks and album before I judge anything :)

Lord of Undow takes a little too much time to get started for me, reminds me a lot of 95% Against Me. Good stuff but not something I would play :D
