Some of the praise that certain producers get for their sound design is completely unwarranted. You'll hear these producers making great sounding kicks and leads and then they'll attempt bass sounds and it completely exposes their abilities. I don't know how many great sounding tracks I've heard that have these little breaks in them with sounds that you would hear from a horribly produced dubstep track from 6 or 7 years ago.

I'm only bringing this up cause I just heard THE XPRMNT and it's exactly what I'm talking about

Calling Sub Zero Project bad sound designers is ridiculous.

Alex149:Calling Sub Zero Project bad sound designers is ridiculous.

I mentioned one Sub Zero Project track as an example of what I was talking about because it was the first recent track to come to my head that was relevant to the point I was making. My comment wasn't solely directed at them and wasn't actually about anyone in particular. But sure, if you think my comment was about them then...

I literally complimented their sound design

scottyxander:You'll hear these producers making great sounding kicks and leads

And then critiqued it in the same sentence

scottyxander: and then they'll attempt bass sounds and it completely exposes their abilities.

But apparently all you got out of that is "Sub Zero Project are bad at sound design".

:?

Stryder:i dont think that really matters. good music is good music my friend :)

I absolutely agree but this is an unpopular opinion thread after all ;)

Well, you used it as a prime example. ;) I'm just saying it is absolutely not a legit example for the topic you're trying to adress.

While the "Dubstep-ish" part might not follow traditional dubstep arrangement's, there's no objective way that the sounds are badly designed in any manner. While I agree that this is about unpopular opinions, disagreeing with that fact is the equivalent of saying Bas Oskam is bad at mixdowns.

Hence my reaction. :p

Adaro's screechy stuff (Murder, Godd Remix) >>>>>>>>> Adaro's melodic stuff (The Sky Is The Limit, Voice of fire)

I dont get the Radical Redemption hype. Okey so he got like 2-3 good tracks. And produces quit alot of tracks. But overall most of them Are horrible, his sound design is horrible. And whoever masters his tracks must be deaf. I rather listen to Uptempo instead
