General Opinion vs. Hardstyle

Postby Tiifa » 14 May 2011, 19:11

hardstyle, or any of those genres in fact, doesn't exist here in sweden. at least not in stockholm. a few clubs play hardstyle sometimes but it's very rare. here it's all about house and rnb :P like sch said, it will never be accepted as swedish people are the most narrowminded people on earth.
tho, dubstep has gotten very popular.. ugh. "omgomgomg deadmau5!" -.-

Oh yeah its the exact same here in regular clubs. You would need to go to an event here for hardstyle, theres usually around 1 a month though. In regular clubs its all shitty chart music, house and rnb too

casefan:I don't really like hearing hardstyle or hardcore on the public radio, because that's a sign it's getting commercialised too much..

good point

That's not true, genres like Hip-Hop and Metal have been commercialised without being played on your average radio station.

Hardstyle is really hated in a lot of areas of the UK. People who aren't already into it won't give it a try, and if you try they say it's evil or sounds like nazi marching music

Guess it doesn't help that a lot of hardstyle DJs will belt out hardstyle or hardcore at 3am after a Techno DJ :+

It does when you know the Internation Dance Music Awards rewarded Deadmau5 - Raise Your Weapon as best dupstep song of 2010  Deadmau5 is fine, but just because he produced a uber-hyped song, everybody claim he is listening to dubstep, let me

just like double-t says. i hate it when people hear ONE song of an artist, and claims they listen to the whole damn genre that artist is in.

Absolutly, Deadmau5s first Album has nothing to do with Dubstep at all ! Actually dunno what style Get Scraped is...

I'd say a mix of several genres.. House (incl. Progressive), some soft D'n'b, some IDM, some weird electro...
Oh fuck I don't know either xD
