The Schranz / Hardtechno Topic

Postby Kaufman » 07 Dec 2014, 03:17

I wasn't going to post this but feel that I should since this is the correct topic. Yes it is only 15 minutes, but I am trying to get to the point. Enjoy! :fist:

Been mixing hardtechno/schranz (I never really know what the difference is) a lot more now that hardstyle is completely dead to me, at the moment my favourite artists are Svetec, Instigator, Mechanical Brothers, Mental Crush, Tilthammer, Sepromatiq - any hints for more artists? I trawl juno and soundcloud for new tracks but it's hard to find more artists that are my style. Svetec is probably the artist that produces awesome stuff consistently, almost all his stuff is awesome, and Instigator is a fave of mine too (though he produces his tracks at a bit of a faster tempo than i prefer)

the difference between schranz & hardtechno is mainly the speed
examples for schranz:

hardtechno: I think everything of the stuff posted here

since you like instigator I recommend you to check lolo, we got more of his old free tracks:

I listen to di.fm Hard Techno channel and find a lot of great artists on there. Schranz Total is one of my favorites and I think there is roughly 21 cd's/sessions. Unfortunately you can't purchase and download them. You purchase the physical copy and it comes from the Netherlands. You can get it here.

he compared some music with a wood chipper (I guess like this, dunno the english word for the sound)
and a friend of him somewhen said that "schranzt" (eng: shred, german: schreddern, I have no clue how he got from "schreddern" to "schranzen") they didn't used it for a specific speed or hardness

he guesses that the younger brothers & sisters wanted to stay apart from they older brothers & sisters who listened to techno and used his word

Show spoiler
but while we are on definition I like to quote Brennan Heart: "it's called hardstyle for a reason, it is hard and it got style" :+

Thank you for clarifying this. I appreciate it. I can see how it would sound like a wood chipper. To me it sounds like a train or even riding a fast horse. While at work one day, a co-worker of mine came in while I had it playing and said that it sounded like a washing machine. hahah. It is pretty cool to see how people react to it. It's either they love it or completely hate it. :fist:

I can't really say I'm surprised by people like Wittekind and Boris S leaving the scene - They did basically the same thing for over 10 years.
I'm grumpier than you.

Do people even read these?

Still awesome tunes though :)
